Relentless Apprentice

Every life has a throughline. You have to find it, and then embrace it. It took me some time to find mine. I studied philosophy in my youth, which gave me a taste for what it means to create concepts. Instead of pursuing a career in academia, I realized that if I wanted to make a real impact on the trajectory of someone's life, I needed to start earlier. I built a Montessori school, where I discovered what it truly means to be curious about the world. I realized the world wasn’t built to meet us where we were, so I wanted to figure out how to shape a new relationship. I've always been drawn to where the humanities meet technology. So I founded a learning company, which taught me that a company, too, could be an environment — the same way a classroom is. A friend and I started a studio, an outlet for our ideas, a place to tinker and get our hands dirty. We haven’t shipped anything yet. For years I grew teams and built products, and relished conversation with communities, eventually working alongside students, educators, and families at a scale I hadn't imagined — and felt, for the first time, what it means to empower a voice rather than just reach one. Now, as always, I'm working to fulfill a life's mission, which is a daily practice: inspiring learning as a way of life. The only way to approach anything is with your heart.
