A Life’s Work

Every life has a rhythm. I’m grateful to everyone who helped me hear mine.

Philosophy taught me to approach problems as questions instead of answers, and to have the courage to create concepts of my own. Working with Arakawa and Gins gave me an appreciation for design, architecture, and storytelling — how a space can think and feel, and what it means to encounter new landscapes as humans. Montessori gave me a beautiful framework to think about how to support curiosity, and in doing so I realized the world wasn't exactly built to meet us where we are. I wanted to figure out how to shape a new relationship to it.

A company taught me that an organization is an environment, asking for the same care a classroom does: tending to the plants, placing things within reach, listening, attending to the needs of the whole. Aesthetics, I came to see, is pedagogy. And the caring is continuous. You are part of the environment you tend.

I’ve always been drawn to where the humanities meet technology, and building a company let me live in that intersection. It asks for careful thought — about what we make, and what it makes of us. Then came scale. Students, educators, families, more than I’d imagined. And I learned the difference between reaching a voice and empowering one.

A studio I started with a friend is still teaching me. We haven't shipped anything yet — tinkering, it turns out, is its own kind of listening.

The mission was always the same: inspiring learning as a way of life. The only way to connect the dots is with your heart.

Cheers to the rhythms life affords. May we always embrace them with joy and humility and a desire to learn.

Building
